Foth Jumps to the Lead!
Corbin 2nd, Ceglarek 3rd in the
showrider.com Equitation Cup High Point Show Jumping Standings
Chelsea, MI July 9 - Patrick Foth rode smoothly to the top of the class, and the high point standings, after his blue ribbon win in the showrider.com Equitation Cup showjumping class at the Stoney Ridge Horse Show in Chelsea, Michigan. Patrick and his gorgeous bay gelding "Renaissance" (owned by Courtney Moulton) have been having an outstanding season in the Equitation division. Trained by Steve Hawkins, Patrick laid down a very smooth jumping phase and returned without stirrups in the flat phase to perform a rapid series of transitions to clinch the win. Kiera Corbin, trained by Carolyn Sanders, finished a very close 2nd on her horse "About Time". Kali Redmond and her horse "Sight Unseen", trained by Kim Carey, put in an outstanding effort in the jumping phase to place 3rd, and Heather Thompson, after doing a great job in the jumping phase, was the first called back in the flat phase where she immediately made a very impressive start by entering the ring without stirrups and being the first rider to perform a figure-8 at the counter-canter! Heather is trained by Sandi Teachman and Eve Newton.
The July 9 class was a "double point" event that leads to the Year End High Point Winner receiving either a brand new saddle or a $1,000 gift certificate from The Franklin Saddler Tack Shop, which will be presented to the winner at the end of the show season.
